Shameless Self-Promotion: Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read
“Mommy, is this why you were glued to your computer for a year?”

A big box containing Hooked on Phonics Learn to Read has arrived at our house, and boy, is it satisfying to see everything in print. As you might remember, I was the producer on this little project, and I wrote a bunch of the books.

I was also known to write a workbook story or two. Or forty.

I’m super excited about this one, a real labor of love. Check out the Hooked on Phonics blog for more info about what’s in it. Also, there’s an online special now through August 15 for a whoppin’ 80 bucks off. If you buy it, I’d really like to know what you think.

Saw some of the inner pages on the Hooked on Phonics blog…Slim Sam and The Case of the Missing Sandwich look awesome. Love Sam’s expression when the girl picks him up thinking that he is a piece of candy.
Congrats and good luck for this series.

Maya, thanks for checking out the Hooked on Phonics blog. I’ll probably be posting more interiors over there in the next couple weeks.
That Slim Sam illustration was one of the favorites of everyone who worked on the project. Lee Calderon did an amazing job.
