When I was a kid I would go over to my friend Tracy’s house. Tracy loved horses, and in the absence of owning a real horse she created a fantasy horse land in her room, with horse decorations and a curio cabinet full of horse figurines. I can only imagine what she would have done with Bella Sara, the virtual world that is “a unique and magical world of horses”.
The Bella Sara people were kind enough to send me some of the horse trading cards that unlock this magical world, and I can’t say that I wasn’t a little excited to receive some sparkly rare foil cards. Much like other online worlds of this type, you go to the website to activate your cards. Once activated, you can visit your horse in the stable, decorate your home, and play games to earn horseshoes, the currency of this land.
One thing that Bella Sara really got right is the game selection. There aren’t a ton of games, but the ones that are there have been well curated, all in keeping with the horse and fantasy theme of this world. There are horse jumping games, lance riding, and a lovely little magic bubble wand game. One particular game, Dream Rider, piqued my interest and is going to get its own post.
I was excited to show Olive the stables, where you can take care of each of your horses by cleaning the hay and feeding and brushing them. When in Vermont we fell in love with Specks the horse, so she got a real kick out of feeding Skipper.
The cost of entry to this world is minimal. You can find packs of trading cards for under $3.00. Too much? Want to try it for free? The first three commenters for this post will each receive a free pack of Bella Sara cards.
Thanks again to April and Eva for telling me about Bella Sara.
